This sub-series includes documents created by the Society's officers to facilitate the administration of membership.

Files concerned with membership of the Society:

• Draft Membership Prospectus - leaflet explaining the purposes of the Society and how to become a member, undated.
• 'ROYAL ASIATIC SOCIETY - Shanghai – List of Fellows, Last up-date: 25 May 2007' list of Fellows as of 25 May 2007.

"List of Life Members Up to: 1991" - a typed list of the Life Members of the Asiatic Society bearing the annotation 'Read 25 Feb 1993'.

Members of Council and Sub-Committees were asked to sign their attendance at the meetings. These five hardback notebooks contain these signatures. They cover the time periods: 9 June 1925 - 13 February 1936, 12 March 1936 - 3 October 1974, 10 October 1974 - 14 December 1995, 11 January 1996 - 25 May 2006, and 15 June 2006 - 12 June 2014

Completed and signed forms by members giving their personal details (name, address, e-mail and address) and interests, to be included in the next List of Fellows published by the Society. Includes some Form A signed by the members.

This series contains correspondence between the Society and its members as well as correspondence with other individuals relating to members and membership.

Megson's Travellers' Order Book containing copies of Oscar Eckenstein's correspondence with N.M. Penzer concerning Eckenstein's Burton Collection. It includes a letter from Penzer’s solicitor to Eckenstein dated 17th December 1920 threatening legal action because of Eckenstein’s refusal to proceed with the sale of his Burton collection to Penzer, and one from Eckenstein’s solicitor to Eckenstein dated 23rd December 1920 discussing the possibility of a settlement. (The record of the correspondence between Penzer and Eckenstein breaks off at this point. Eckenstein died April 8 1921).

There is also a letter from Margery Cham to Lewis C. Loyd, from “The Cave, Oving" (Eckenstein’s former home), dated 8 December 1922, saying that she was sending all that she could find of copies of Eckenstein’s letters to Penzer.
