Two letters and three articles by Reinhold F.G. Müller. These are:

• Letter from Reinhard Müller to the Royal Asiatic Society to send an article from the Archivs für Geschichte der Medizin BD.15, Leipzig, about John Ambrose Barth, November 192,3 and two articles on the name 'Tschmolungma', one of which he asks to be forwarded to the Royal Geographical Society. Due to difficulties in obtaining material he also asks for the Society to send articles on Asian medicine. Typed, dated 10 December 1923.
• Letter from Reinhard Müller to the Royal Asiatic Society to thank for material sent and that he will send copies of his articles concerning them once published. He gives his bookseller, Otto Harrassowitz, as a suitable means of getting material to him and payment. Typed, dated 26 January 1924.

• Über asiatische Bergnamen - an offprint of an article by Müller from the Zeitschrift des Ōsterreichischen Alpenklubs, November 1923, concerning the naming of mountains in Tibet. Printed, dated November 1923.

A plate of part of the 'Akshobhya in his Abhirati Heaven', the 15th century image from Western Tibet (Guge) which is found in the Nasli and Alice Heeramaneck Collection now in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. This plate shows only the bottom left corner of the image. Pencilled on its surround is '165e'.

The Papers of Charles Ambrose Storey are mainly concerned with gathering material for his research into Persian Literature. They include his own notes and draft publications and additional notes by people who subsequently worked with his research.

These Papers consist of the handwritten manuscript by William Cullen of his "Memorandum by Major-General Cullen addressed to the Madras Government, on the 5th December 1843." In this memorandum Cullen sets out his ideas for district museums to house rock specimens and other details of the areas of interest to science and agriculture. He also lays out his suggestions that all engineers should carry barometers with them and make use of them for assessing altitudes, which can help in decisions regarding navigation, irrigation and transport communication. The memorandum consists of 30 foolscap written sides and a further endpaper with identifying label, all tied with green ribbon.

The papers consist of a single letter from John Haffenden, Malaysian Agency, British and Foreign Bible Society, to William Edward Maxwell to send two copies of the "Acts of the Apostle" in Malay (Arabic character) which had been printed in Europe by the Society. Haffenden asks Maxwell for his opinion on the type with which the book has been printed. The letter is dated Singapore, 18 January 1889.

The archive consists of correspondence from William Jones to Samuel Davis, some correspondence from Joseph Banks and Lord Teignmouth with and regarding Lady Jones, various botanical sketches and notes and a Sale Catalogue for the books of William Jones' lLbrary.

Typed manuscript entitled, "Chinese Secret Societies in Malaya. Sections K. L. + M. The Chinese factor in the Policy of Intervention" concerning the time period 1872-1876. It is also labelled as "File 5" and "Duplicate". It appears to be an early draft or research material for part of Blythe's book The Impact of Chinese Secret Societies in Malaya published in 1969. The material seems to be in more depth than the corresponding material covered within the publication. With the file is a note which reads, "It is possible that Prof. Cowan at S.O.A.S., London, would like to have this File 5, as it deals with the subject of his book on Intervention".

"An English- Malayalam Vocabulary compiled by Melville Wace". 121 loose pages, typed, of an English to Malayalam vocabulary with extensive handwritten annotations. Also a front page with biographical details and bearing a Royal Asiatic Society stamp. The annotations and the biography have been added to the manuscript at a later date by an unidentified author who also seems to have undertaken repair of some of the pages.

This fonds contains the personal papers of William Pettigrew, including research notes connected with the Manipuri language and other local dialects, examination papers, as well as correspondence primarily relating to a monograph on archaic Manipuri on which he collaborated with Yumjao Singh.

This collection consists of seven leather bound portfolios containing topographical drawings, maps, floor plans, notes and papers that the West brothers had created when working in the Maharashtra region of India in the mid to late 1800's. The main focus of the collection is the Kanheri Caves; a group of over 109 rock cut temples located in what is today the Sanjay Gandhi National Park on the western outskirts of Mumbai. The brothers studied these caves over the course of several decades, returning to the site many times to check and amend measurements, locations, and expand open their interpretation of the site. The remainder of the collection covers several other sites such as: Ajanta, Ellora and Daulatabad.
