This is a series of correspondence mainly between W.E.D. Allen and Raleigh Ashlin Skelton (known as Peter to his friends, and in these letters). There is some correspondence with Skelton's daughter after Skelton was killed in a car accident.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he writes that he has reordered the material that Allen requires and the cost of the copies. Dated: 28 August 1961.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he writes that Allen's introduction has arrived safely and he has read it and found it of immense interest. He writes further of editorial matters. Dated: 11 July 1964.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he asks whether Allen and his wife Natasha would like to spend a Saturday with Skelton when they are in London. He adds that the timetable for the Russian Embassies will suit well. Dated: 24 January 1960.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he writes of his recent tour to America, since when he has been ill with influenza. He writes concerning the progress of the Russian Embassies and the material that Allen requires, and approves of Allen's hint that Bishop Veniaminov's papers may be published by the Society. Dated: 10 April 1961.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen to give a list of books from the Hakluyt Series that he may provide to Allen. With this letter is also an advertising brochure for Publications of the Hakluyt Society: Kraus Reprint. Letter dated: 31 January 1970.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he writes that his letter to Armando Cortesao must have reached him after Allen had visited. He expresses his admiration of Cortesao. He further writes of publications and engagements and that he will be travelling to Newfoundland for 3 months from August to November. Dated: 14 March 1970.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he writes that the microfilm order has gone wrong and must be restarted, therefore could Allen provide him with the pages that he requires. Dated: 21 August 1961.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen in which he thanks for Allen for his hospitality and particularly the library, which he regrets not having more time in which to spend. Skelton writes of his perceived problems with the Evliya Celebi project. This letter is incomplete. Dated 4 July 1970.

Letter from Peter Skelton to W.E.D. Allen to write that his wife, Molly, had delivered books and Sally's wedding present to Magg's shop. Skelton thanks Allen for the photographs of his Marco Polo manuscript. Skelton encloses a note on the Hakluyt Society duplicates that he can dispose of (list with letter).
