As part of the Sesquicentenary several Fellows went to give lectures at schools. This series contains administrative material and correspondence concerned with these lectures.

The archival material includes Planning committee administration; material connected with the various events held, exhibitions put on and publications produced in celebration of the occasion; and material concerned with fundraising for the Society.

  • Letter from Reverend John Oliver, Eton College, to Susan Skilliter to suggest that the lecture might take the form of one on Oriental religions, dated 24 October 1972.
  • Letter from Susan Skilliter to Diana Crawford, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform her that Stuart Simmonds might do the Eton lecture on Buddhism, dated 10 November 1972.
  • Letter from B.W. Robinson, President, Royal Asiatic Society, to the Headmaster, Eton College, to ask if they would be interested in hosting a lecture, dated 1 January 1973.
