These Papers are mainly concerned with excavations undertaken by David Stronach and John Hansman at Šahr-e Qumis in 1971 and 1976, and by David Stronach at Pasargadae in 1963. There is also the manuscript for Hansman's book, "Julfār, an Arabian Port", and more recent correspondence between Hansman and RAS Archivist, Nancy Charley.

Typed lists of Plate Captions, Catalogue of Woven Material in Figure 7, and Figure Captions for an article by Hansman and Stronach. With these lists is an acknowledgment slip from Stephen Austin and Sons Limited, Printers, with the note "Omitted from Hansman package. Apologies", and a black and white excavation photograph which is marked up on its reverse for printing.

In 1923 the Royal Asiatic Society celebrated its Centenary. This archival material contains a scrapbook with Centenary correspondence and invitations, further congratulatory correspondence, material concerning the Centenary Events, and correspondence concerning the publication of a Centenary Volume.
