The papers consist of a single letter from John Haffenden, Malaysian Agency, British and Foreign Bible Society, to William Edward Maxwell to send two copies of the "Acts of the Apostle" in Malay (Arabic character) which had been printed in Europe by the Society. Haffenden asks Maxwell for his opinion on the type with which the book has been printed. The letter is dated Singapore, 18 January 1889.

Allen William Edward David 1901-1973 Caucasian historianThese Papers consist of the handwritten manuscript by William Cullen of his "Memorandum by Major-General Cullen addressed to the Madras Government, on the 5th December 1843." In this memorandum Cullen sets out his ideas for district museums to house rock specimens and other details of the areas of interest to science and agriculture. He also lays out his suggestions that all engineers should carry barometers with them and make use of them for assessing altitudes, which can help in decisions regarding navigation, irrigation and transport communication. The memorandum consists of 30 foolscap written sides and a further endpaper with identifying label, all tied with green ribbon.
Cullen William 1785-1862 Army officerThe Papers include correspondence with Wiiliam Claxton Peppé, lists of the finds, some plans of the site, and a draft of an article by Peppé published in the Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society, 1898, pp. 573-588. There is further allied material relating to the originals.
Peppé William Claxton 1852-1936 Estate managerThese papers consist of the typed manuscript of the Masters thesis of Collins. Entitled "An Investigation into the Division of the Chams in Two Regions", it explores the Cham people in Indochina. The thesis was submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in Asian Studies, in the Graduate Division of the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966. The thesis is 77 pages and is preceded by the title, dedication and index pages.
Collins, William AugustusThese Personal Papers consist of the typed manuscript for Nelson's Fort Jesus of Mombasa including colour photographs. There are photocopies of a letter sent by his daughter and of Nelson's Obituary in the Aberdeen Grammar School Magazine.
Nelson William James Adair Finance Officer of Aberdeen University, AuthorTyped manuscript entitled, "Chinese Secret Societies in Malaya. Sections K. L. + M. The Chinese factor in the Policy of Intervention" concerning the time period 1872-1876. It is also labelled as "File 5" and "Duplicate". It appears to be an early draft or research material for part of Blythe's book The Impact of Chinese Secret Societies in Malaya published in 1969. The material seems to be in more depth than the corresponding material covered within the publication. With the file is a note which reads, "It is possible that Prof. Cowan at S.O.A.S., London, would like to have this File 5, as it deals with the subject of his book on Intervention".
Blythe Wilfred Lawson 1896-1975 colonial administrator"An English- Malayalam Vocabulary compiled by Melville Wace". 121 loose pages, typed, of an English to Malayalam vocabulary with extensive handwritten annotations. Also a front page with biographical details and bearing a Royal Asiatic Society stamp. The annotations and the biography have been added to the manuscript at a later date by an unidentified author who also seems to have undertaken repair of some of the pages.
Wace Walter Melville d 1942 Writer, rubber plantation managerThe papers consist of A Grammar of the Maratah Language by Soob Row Maratah, Bramney of Tanjore. The purpose of his writing was to explain the Marathi language giving clear rules of grammar. The book is handwritten in Marathi and English and bound in a leather volume. Unfortunately the boards have come loose from the spine. The spine bears the title 'Maratah M.S. Grammar'.

- Certificate of Thanks for 18 years service as Secretary of Royal Asiatic Society. This is undated but Rhys Davids completed his 18 years, serving as both Secretary and Librarian, in 1905. The certificate is signed by Lord Reay and has the names of the Society's Members below.
- Certificate for Philosophy Doctorate at the University of Wratislaviensis (Breslau) with attached seal, signed by Richard Roepell, 1882. With the certificate are 4 additional paper copies.
