There are four items of correspondence concerning the organisation of the conferment of the Medal.

The material in this series includes correspondence regarding the conferment of the medal, regarding the purchasing and making of the medal, with Aurel Stein, with press agencies, an invitation to the occasion of the presentation of the medal, and press cuttings regarding the event.

Letter from Colonel Hoysted, Secretary RAS, to Lord Zetland, President of RAS, to say that he had unwittingly omitted the matter of the Gold Medal from the Agenda of the last Council Meeting and according to Clause 6 this may mean that the medal could not be presented that year. He had found a letter from Mr Wilson (see RAS TGM/8) regarding the rules of the medal. He asks Lord Zetland's opinion on the matter. Typed copy, dated 27 February 1931.

Note in [Hoysted's hand] to state that at the Council Meeting of 12 March 1931, it was decided that the presentation of the Society's Gold Medal should be postponed until the next session.
