  • Letter from G.A. Calver to Dr John Hansman to send him The Times list of the 1000 largest companies. He suggests a circular is produced to solicit interest from them. He also writes of the companies and organisations that he will personally approach and that he will send Mr Alexander to help on the day of the Reception, dated 16 January 1973.

  • Notes on a conversation with Dr Ware regarding power of the Council to invest the Society's money. Signed by G.A. Calver, dated 24 September 1980.
  • Royal Asiatic Society: Investment Policy, dated 12 March 1981.
  • Letter from G.A. Calver to Eric Southall to state that at the last Council Meeting it was agreed to set up an Investment Committee of these two plus Simon Digby, dated 8 September 1981.

As part of the Sesquicentenary Celebrations the Royal Asiatic Society decided to host a series of National Days at approximately monthly intervals to highlight the countries in which the Society was particularly interested and with the hope of strengthening ties between various bodies interested in Asia. Letter from Stuart Simmonds, President, Royal Asaitic Society, to Phil, School of Oriental and African Studies, to thank him for SOAS agreeing to host the Symposium and to ask whether they might also host a Sherry reception for the participants, dated 19 July 1973. Further correspondence accepting the invitation to the Sherry reception held at the Committee Room, School of Oriental and African Studies, on 24 July 1973. These are from Dr. R.D. Barnett, Mr G.A. Calver, Mr & Mrs J.T. Hooker, Professor and Mrs C.F. Beckingham, Sir Mortimer Wheeler, and Mrs J.M. Witt.
