The Royal Asiatic Society has a strong history of publications, both of its academic Journal, and of monographs and other literature. During the course of its existence various committees have overseen this work. This collection contains the minutes for the meetings of these committees.

The Minutes for the Publications Committee from 9th June 1977 to 8th December 2011. These are pasted into a large hardback bound volume with a blue and red cover. The Minutes contains details of those from the Committee that were present and apologies for absence, matters concerning the Journal of the Society including articles submitted, under consideration and accepted, exchanges with other institutions, books for review and permissions requested for other publications. They also considered the prizes such as the Barwiss-Holliday Fund and the George Staunton Prize for articles and theses.

The signed Minutes of the Editorial Board from 13th December 1951 until 12th December 1968, and of the Publications Committee from 13th February 1969 to 14 April 1977. These are handwritten into or typed and pasted into a lined notebook with a green cover.

Throughout the period of the Editorial Board the President of the Society chaired the Committee. These were Richard Winstedt, Gerard Clauson, Sir Harold Bailey, and Charles Beckingham. The Publications Committee was chaired either by the President or the Director. These were J. Burton-Page, B.W. Robinson, A.D.H. Bivar, Stuart Simmonds, K.A. Ballhatchet, and Charles Beckingham again.
