Letter from James W. Redhouse, Secretary, to His Excellency, M. Thouvenet, to inform that the Society receives books on oriental subjects and gives copies of its Journal in exchange to 100 societies including the Bibliotheque Imperiale at Paris. The French government publishes, from time to time, Oriental works including works by Botta and Oppert. The Society would appreciate if it could receive such valuable works. (Found on page 294)

The earlier ones, covering 1823-1835, are all concerned with the finances of the Society. There is then a break in the letters until 1846, after which the correspondence covers a broader spectrum of activities.
