              Russian translation of the Georgian Code of King Vakhtang

              A handwritten volume written in Russian. A note in English, at the beginning of this volumes states that it contains: Copy of the Georgian Code of King Vakhtang Armenian Laws Laws of the Kings of Georgia This is an extensive volume of approximately 470 pages. It is in a fragile condition with the leather bound boards loose from the contents.

              This series consists of images collected by Allen for possible use in "The History of Georgian People" and some research notes. The book was published in 1932, so presumably the material was collated before this time.

              111 images that Allen had collated from various sources, that could be used to illustrate the text of his "A History of the Georgian People". Some of these were reproduced in the final book. All black and white illustrations, mostly photocopies printed onto photographic paper. They depict scenes from Georgian history, characters such as Castelli ,and historic buildings.
