Ménage also discusses different versions of the text that were censored or modified at the time and how this difference could be addressed critically by the editors. Dated: 4 April 1960.

Letter from Victor Louis Ménage to W.E.D. Allen with which Ménage sends Allen a copy of the Serbo-Croat Celebi text which Allen had previously requested (copy of this not included in folder). Ménage also writes of his frustrations in trying to obtain photographs from the Turkish authorities though he is trying to give them a boost and priase their efforts at restoration. Dated: 14 May 1960.

This summary was used by Allen during his early research on the topic, Allen also attached a copy with his project proposal to Harold Bowen at the Hakluyt Society. Dated: 1948.
