Correspondence between the Society and the following Honorary Fellows dating from 1960s to 1970s. These are mostly internal and outgoing letters concerning issue of diploma and membership invitation, with replies from the members. For some, there is accompanying material such as biographies, copies of press release, news clippings, postcards and obituaries.

• Letter from P. S. Belvalkar informing the Society of the death of his father, Dr S. K. Belvalkar (elected 1946), dated March 1967. 2 pieces
• Letter from Professor J. Gonda from the Netherlands informing the Society of the death of Professor R. Heine-Geldern (elected 1946) and Professor F. D. K Bosch (elected 1948), and reply from the Society, dated January 1969. 2 pieces
• Telegram from Jacques Ryckmans informing the Society of the death of Monsignor Gonzague Ryckmans (elected 1948), including a printed obituary, [September 1969]. 2 pieces
• Letters regarding the nomination of Professor Hsia Nai (Xia Nai), Deputy Head of the Delegation of Archaeological Finds of the People’s Republic of China, 1973-1974; Professor Hsia Nai’s reply declining the nomination, dated February 1975; and a subsequent letter, from Dr Michael Loewe, regarding the renewal of the invitation. Hsia Nai was re-nominated as an Honorary Fellow in the Council meeting on 13 June 1985, only a few days before his death. 8 pieces
