              A folder containing eight documents relating to the Caves at Salsette. These include: No.1: A sketch of a Cave at Kandar, scale 20 feet to an inch, with description, September 1854. No.2: A sketch, scale 20 feet to an inch, and description, of a quarry near Marob, November 1854. No.3: A description and drawings of copper coins, found 19 January 1855, near the village of Syee, now under the Vihar Lake. No.4: A list of names, probably from a native report. No.5: A sketch map of Kondati Hill, and a list of places taken from a native report. No.6: A tablet block near the summit of Vehar Khind showing the inscription and with its translation. No.7: A sketch of an old deserted Parsi Temple of Silence, with description, July 1856 No.8: A sketch and description of a Parsi 'Dakhma' under the hill north of Aurungabad.

              Rough sketches and notes of so-called 'Visitor Inscriptions' predominantly from Cave No. 10. There is one inscription from Cave No. 3. The names and dates inscribed onto the walls on Cave No. 10 have been copied in the style and arranged in an order which indicates their location in the caves. These are dated 1678, 1697, 1706, 1708, 1710, 1718, 1735 and 1771.

              An unfinished polychrome scaled copy of the wall painting in what is presumed to be Cave No. 51. The image depicts a large central enthroned figure of the Buddha surrounded by attending figures. To the right appears to be another figure seated on a double lotus. Further figures are alluded to.

              Two polychrome scaled copies of paintings from Cave No. 16 and No. 21. The copy of the painting from Cave No. 16, which depicts a group of robed figures on the ceiling of the cave, is unfinished. The copy from Cave No. 21 depicts the remains of a grid of seated figures on the back wall of the cave, as well as some surrounding architectural detail. The scale of this drawing is one inch to a foot.
