              Four pencil, ink and ink wash scaled drawings of painted figures from Cave No. 3. Included partial figures which decorate three columns, alongside some annotations and notes pertaining to the remaining columns, as well as a partial female figure who flanks the colossal Buddha on the right side of the verandah. Scale is one inch to a foot.

              The beginning of a scaled drawing of a doorkeeper from the right of the entrance to Cave No. 72. Depicted is only the headdress, outline of the shoulders, and the end of what is likely a weapon. Included are some notes of the colours of the painting. Scale in one inch to a foot.

              A notebook titled 'Kanhari Caves I - XXI signed James Burgess'. The first page, titled 'Drawings', lists Plates associated to each cave. The notebook continues a descriptive account of Caves No. 1 to No. 20. Throughout, the margins are annotated, including the positioning of Plates, editorial notes, fact verification, as well as some links to earlier Western accounts of the site.

First are extracts translated from a French Translation of Carsten Niebuhr's 1780 Voyage en Arabic (Arabian Voyage). The second are extracts from a 1847 work by Dr. J Bird. Third, extracts from J. B. 'Selby's' (Seely?) 1825 Wonders of Ellora. And finally, Notes on Kanheri from James Fergusson's 1845 Rock Cut Temples.
