The Friends of Coleridge, founded in 1986 by David Miall and Rosemary Cawthray, exists to foster interest in the life and works of the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his circle. They pursue these aims by publishing the journal The Coleridge Bulletin, by hosting a biennial Summer Conference, and by running events and workshops for members of the society, for schools and other institutes of education, and for the general public. Membership is open to all.

Nalini Balbir is a French Indologist who lives in Paris. She is a scholar of Sanskrit, Prakrit, Pali, Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism. She was previously a student of Indologist Colette Caillat. She is known for her work on the publication of the Catalogue of the Jain Manuscripts of the British Library published by the Institute of Jainology.

Charles Stoddart

Lieutenant Colonel Charles Stoddart was a British officer and diplomat. He was born in Ipswich and educated at Norwich School and later commissioned into the Royal Staff Corps from Royal Military College, Sandhurst, in 1823. He served under Mr Ellis, and Sir J. McNeill, ambassadors in Tehran and played a part in the release of Herat from siege in 1838. From Herat he was sent to Bukhara but was imprisoned by the Emir Nasrullah Khan. In 1941 Captain Conolly tried to secure his release but instead both were beheaded on 17 June 1942

Peter Collin was head of French in the Department of European Languages and Literature at the University of Hong Kong. He returned to the UK in 1973 to work for Harrap, publishers of schoolbooks and dictionaries before starting his own publishing house, P H Collin in 1985, which was acquired on his retirement in 2002 by Bloomsbury.
