The material for 1986 contains:

• Minutes for the Library Committee Meeting, 9 January 1986. With this is a paper by the Library Policy Committee concerning the Collections. Typed documents.
• "Redefinition of the Library" - report proposing a Team of Experts should work with the Librarian to identify material to be declassified.
• Agenda and Minutes for Library Committee Meeting, 6 October 1986.
• Agenda and Minutes for Library Committee Meeting, 10 November 1986.
• Agenda and Minutes for Library Committee Meeting 8 December 1986.

The Council Minutes for 13 February 1986 record that they approved too recommendations of the Library Committee on future policy for the Library. The Minutes for 10 April 1986 record that it was agreed that a number of extra experts should be approached to give advice on the books in the Library Collection. The Minutes for 11 December 1986 record that the sub-committee had helped to sort out the books.
