Correspondence, reports and statements produced in the administration of the Forlong Fund between 1981 and 1990. These are:

1981

• Letter from N.C Shane, Administrative Officer, SOAS, to E.V. Gibson, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to ask for the Forlong Fund Accounts and Estimates. Typed, 1 piece, dated 22 May 1981.
• Letter from E.V. Gibson to N.C. Shane to send the Accounts and Estimates and to inform of the Council's decision for £750 to be used for scholars and the rest for publications. The accounts are with the letter. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 12 June 1981.

1982

• Letter from N.C. Shane to E.V. Gibson to inform of the Committee's recommendation that scholarships be awarded to Miss E.A. Hutton and Dr M. Shokoohy. She encloses a copy of their curricula vitae. She asks for confirmation of the terms for receipt of an award. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 24 March 1982.
• Letter from N.C. Shane to E.V. Gibson to ask for the Accounts and Estimates ready for the next Forlong Fund Committee meeting and to confirm their telephone conversation regarding the awards to Miss Hutton and Dr Shokoohy. Typed, 1 piece, dated 14 June 1982.
• Letter from E.V. Gibson to N.C. Shane to confirm that £600 will be given for awards but that the Accounts and Estimates are delayed. Typed , 1 piece, dated 25 June 1982.
• Letter from E.V. Gibson to N.C. Shane to send both the Accounts and Estimates and also a cheque to cover the awards. The accounts are with the letter. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 30 September & 1 October 1982.

1983

• Letter from E.V. Gibson to N.C. Shane to send both the Accounts and Estimates and to confirm that the Council decided to put the estimated income towards publications. The accounts are with the letter. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 7 June 1983.
• Letter from N.C. Shane to E.V. Gibson to enclose a cheque for £300 because Dr Shokoohy was unable to take up the award. Typed, 1 piece, dated 25 August 1983.

1984

1985

• Letter from E.V. Gibson to N.C Shane to send the Accounts and Estimates for the Forlong Fund. These are with the letter. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 26 June 1986.
• Letter from N.C. Shane to E.V. Gibson to inform that the Accounts were approved at the Scholarship Committee Meeting. Typed, 1 piece, dated 22 December 1986.

1987

• Letter from Lydia Collins, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, to N.C. Shane to enclose the Accounts and Estimates for the Forlong Fund and to inform that £400 could be made available for scholarships in 1989. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 4 November 1988.

1989

• Letter from K. Henderson, Secretary, Scholarships Committee, SOAS, to Lydia Collins to inform that the £400 award was decided to be used to provide a travelling scholarship. Typed, 1 piece, dated 11 March 1989.
• Letter from Lydia Collins to K. Henderson to inform that the Publications Committee have agreed with the use of the money for a travel scholarship. Typed, 1 piece, dated 3 April 1989.
