Correspondence, reports and statements produced in the administration of the Forlong Fund between 1941 and 1950. These are:

1943

• 'School of Oriental and African Studies: Meeting of the Forlong and Scholarships Committee to be held at the School on Thursday, 17 June 1943, at 2 p.m.' - Agenda for the meeting along with Statements of Account and, in particular, to consider the awarding of a free place on Chinese for E.S. King should be extended and for the renewal of a free place for Miss Carmen Blacker. Typed, 2 pieces.
• Letter from T.S. Sterling, Secretary, School of Oriental and African Studies, to the Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society to send the statement of Income and Expenditure for 1942-43 to lay before the Council along with the recommendation for the selling price of Commander Isemonger's 'Elements of Japanese Writing'. Typed, 1 piece, date 19 July 1943. With this letter are two pages of handwritten notes presumably made by the Secretary of the Royal Asiatic Society upon receipt of the letter.

1945

• Letter from John Lee, Assistant Secretary, SOAS, to Mrs Davies, Secretary, Royal Asiatic Society, concerning the reproduction of Commander Isemonger's publication by photostat. Typed, 1 piece, dated 19 November 1945. With this letter are copies of correspondence between Isemonger and Lee, 4 pages, typed, dated 27 August - 19 November 1945.

1946

• Letter from J.R. Bracken to the Director, Royal Asiatic Society, to inform that the Formation of the Translation Committee for the Sir William Jones Bicentenary Conference requires a representative from the Society. Typed, 1 piece, dated 9 October 1946.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken, Assistant Secretary, SOAS, to Mrs Davis with request for payment for the Forlong Fund. A list of the payments needed is included. Two pieces, typed, dated 14 October 1946.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to inform of the resolutions passed concerning the Forlong Fund at the Academic Board meeting of 21 November 1946. Typed, two pieces, dated 22 November 1946.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to return a postcard from Subhadra Jha. The postcard is with the letter and concerns Subhadra Jha's progress with his publication. Letter is 1 piece, typed, dated 26 November 1946. Postcard is 1 piece, handwritten, dated 23 October 1946.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to inform her of the amount of the Forlong Fund required to print the proceedings of the Sir William Jones Bicentenary Conference. Typed, 1 piece, dated 9 December 1946.

1947

• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to inform that at the Academic Board it was agreed that the Acting Head of the Department of India and Ceylon, Bishop Stephen Neill, should be asked to give the Forlong lectures and to note of new candidates for awards. He also informs of activities that have occurred under the auspices of the Forlong Fund. Typed, 1 piece, dated 3 March 1947.
• Letter from Mrs M. Davies to J.R. Bracken to state that the recommendations would be put before the Council at their next meeting. Typed, 1 piece, dated 6 March 1947.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to thank for sending the Forlong Fund Statement and to inform of the next meeting of their Forlong Committee. Typed, 1 piece, dated 25 April 1947.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to thank for informing that the Council have approved the recommendations and suggesting that in future the accounts for the Fund be kept at the School. Typed, 1 piece, dated 1 May 1947.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to inform her of the Academic Board's proposal regarding the keeping of the accounts at the School. Typed, 2 pieces, dated 29 May 1947.
• Letter from J.R. Bracken to Mrs Davis to inform of the Academic Board's decision to authorise the payment for Professor Tritton's 'Muslim Theology', to ask for money for the William Jones Bicentenary Conference, and to inform regarding scholarships and further lectures by Bishop Neill.
