The volume measures 33.5 cm x 21 cm with marbled cover and leather spine much of which has been lost.

There is a further description under the heading "Supplement to the Printed Glossary" initially dated 15 August 1843, crossed out and changed to 7 February 1844. The manuscript is then titled "Supplemental Glossary of Revenue & Agricultural Terms used in the North Western Provinces". The manuscript has many alterations and annotations. The volume measures 26.5 cm x 21 cm with marbled cover and leather spine entitled "M.S. of Supplemental Glossary".

"List of Inscriptions from Northern India sent to Dr. Jas. Burgess, C.I.G., Edinburgh Scotland". An alphabetical list of inscriptions dated to November 1886. A different hand notes that these were sent through "Messrs. Grindlay [Gr ] & Co" and shipped aboard the SS Thames on 13th Feb 1892. Several of the pages bear the stamp of James Burgess. L.L.D., Archaeological Survey.

Letter from Henry Thoby Princep to Brian Houghton Hodgson concerning a letter, taken up by the English newspapers against the Governor-General, supposedly written by a relative of Jung Bahadur. He writes to ask Hodgson's opinion on Jung Bahadur's offer of help with soldiers. Handwritten, 4 sides, dated 10 October 1857.
