Cutting from unknown newspaper with a partial article on a meeting of the some society with a Zoological Department. The article concerns the heights of different mountains in the Himalayan range and the results of the Trigonometrical Survey to record the all. It includes the names of Colonel Waugh and Major Thuillier. Dated 1856.

Hodgson kept many newspaper cuttings both about his own life and about the subjects in which he was interested. Though some of these are located with other material, such as in the Autograph book (BHH/1), there are 119 loose cuttings within his Papers.

Cutting from The Academy with article entitled "Notes of Travel" in which Hodgson has marked the passage concerning how Nain Sing, Pandit at the Office of the Great Trigonometrical Survey had completed a route survey from Ladak to Lhasa. Hodgson has added some annotations. Dated 31 July 1875.
